Precautions we are taking to insure the health and safety of our patients and staff
What To Expect In Your Upcoming Visit
The health and safety of our patients and staff is our number one priority, and we have made a number of changes to our office and procedures in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is our “new” normal.
We will be
limiting patient traffic into the office to enhance physical
distancing. An appointment is required to enter the office,
including visits for frame adjustments or repairs. We will be
offering “curbside” delivery of your glasses and contacts for
your convenience. Only the patient or necessary caregiver may attend
the visit. If the patient is a minor child, only one guardian may
- All patients that come to the office must wear a face mask; if you do not have one, we will provide for you. Our staff will be wearing face masks and our doctors will be wearing face masks and gloves.
2. We will be requesting patients
with symptoms of illness and those at a higher likelihood of
exposure to coronavirus to postpone their visit.
3. We ask that patients wait in their car. Please call/text (916-966-6080) us when you are in the parking lot and we will let you know when we are ready for your appointment.
4. We have set up an online patient registration to eliminate clipboard and pen contact. Please fill out all necessary forms online prior to your visit.
5. We will be screening forehead temperatures using non-contact thermometers and sending home patients with fevers (100.4°F or higher).
6. We have installed plexiglass barriers around the office. You will notice them at the front desk and optical dispensing areas. We have also installed breath guards for the slit lamps (microscopes) in the exam rooms.
7. Your ocular health is important to us. We recommend having an Optomap picture (OPTOS) done instead of dilation to limit the amount of time you are in the office. An OPTOS provides the doctor with a digital image of the retina to detect any eye diseases (ie. Macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal holes or tears, etc) as well as systemic diseases (ie. Diabetes, high blood pressure, freckles, tumors, etc). We offer OPTOS for $30 and the doctor will go over the picture with you during your eye examination.
8. An optician will help frame style you. All frames will be disinfected before and after you try them on.
9. We have set up contact-less payment. You can now pay via text messaging.

How To Pick Up Your Glasses or Contact Lenses
Please note that in light of COVID-19, our office has adjusted the way we dispense glasses and contact lenses to ensure everyone’s health and safety.
Once you have been notified that your glasses have arrived, there are a couple of options:
We can mail your pre-adjusted glasses to your home address free of charge.
Please call our office for a glasses “curbside” pickup.
We can schedule an appointment to dispense the glasses in the office
All contact lenses will be shipped to your home address free of charge.
Don’t forget to ask us about daily disposable contact lenses if you are not already wearing them! Our doctors recommend daily disposable contact lenses especially since they allow for better hygiene compared to other contact lens modalities.
